The principle of the OSC5100 fiber optic grating displacement meter is to use the reflected laser signal center wavelength shift to detect displacement values. The measurement accuracy is not affected by light source power fluctuations and transmission line losses. It can be connected in series with dozens of fiber optic grating displacement meters on a single fiber and directly transmit signals remotely, without the need for power supply at the monitoring site.
Fiber Bragg grating displacement meters can be used to measure cracks or displacements in large structures, such as large buildings, pipelines, bridges, dams, steel structures, and rocks.
The internal components of the sensor include fiber Bragg grating strain gauge, high-performance spring, pull rod, protective casing, universal joint, etc. The sensor is completely sealed. When the connecting rod is pulled out of the sensor body, it will cause changes in the wavelength of the fiber Bragg grating. By reading the wavelength of the fiber Bragg grating, the displacement value can be accurately obtained.
